Details

This bracelet especially created for The Melissa Institute has grey with black speckled agate gemstones as well as a silver tone hanging sunflower charm. Agates are one of the oldest stones in history and considered a prized gem in ancient times.  A grounding stone that facilitates acceptance of one’s self, aids in improving concentration and perception. It overcomes negativity and fosters love and courage to start again.  Grey agates harmonize our yin and yang, the positive and energy forces to create a sense of safety and security within ourselves. Variations of color exist with natural stones. The stretch bracelet measures approximately 7" inches and we do have a very limited quantity of smaller 6" inches available.  Please specify size when ordering.

Proceeds from the bracelet will benefit the non profit organization The Melissa Institute. The mission of The Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention and Treatment, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is to prevent violence and promote safer communities through education and application of research-based knowledge. The Institute was established to honor the memory of Melissa Aptman, a vibrant young woman who was brutally murdered two weeks before her college graduation in 1995.

The sunflower was Melissa's favorite flower. The versatile sunflower is considered a symbol of optimism and perseverance. These traits resonate with our organization's purpose to "give away science" and make a difference for a safer world.

The Institute provides education, community service, research support and consultation, reaching a national and international audience with our three websites. Visit their websites for information on ways to improve literacy, school safety, resilience and early parenting skills.  Find ways to reduce bullying and victimization, family violence, youth violence and childhood or adult trauma.

Amoura is honored and proud to have partnered with such a worthy organization.  Please consider purchasing one of the 3 exclusively designed bracelets to raise funds for continued research, education and treatment in the prevention of violence and safer communities.
